Quantitative Assessments

To measure the success of its programs, READ employs:

  • Pre- and post-testing of students using the Reading for All Learners Program (RALP) built in assessment system.

  • RALP reliability measures which are reinforced by requiring two evaluators to independently administer every test and confirm mastery for each child.

  • Formal assessment of tutors (i.e. use of a standard tutor observation form).

Qualitative Assessments

At the end of each program cycle (i.e. end of summer or school year program), teacher and tutor evaluations of the program are collected and analyzed. Information gathered via these feedback surveys is used to strengthen and further develop READ programming.
